Child Plays Satanic Music at Church?

This just in:
At the First Baptist Church of Sequim, teen band, ‘The Blister’, played Black Sabbath’s “Lord of this World’ as part of the Summertime Patch Fest Talent Show.

Lyrics to the song are:
“Lord of this world, evil possessor, Lord of this world, he’s your confessor now.”
Church authorities did not think kindly of The Blister’s performance or choice of song. No further comments were available.
The Blister placed 3rd.
This also just in:
Billy Dee Williams says Colt 45, “Works every time.”

Trent - out.

Fantastic!
As long as there are teenage Black Sabbath fans willing to infiltrate church talent shows to stick it to the man, there is hope.
are you sure about this? that pic has been on rocknrollconfidential.com for some time now.
with the caption "screaming screaming for cheese fries" I might add.
Beautiful. I don't care where the picture is from. It is still beautiful.
I think it's the Sabbath at the Church Talent Show that works every time.
I will not say how or where I got the picture. It's The Blister, why not?
I still can't get over how smooth Billy Dee is.
godamn that's funny!
That kid is bringing it. Wherever it is.
I screaming screaming for more of this!
Absolute beauty.
i am laughing out loud
Genius.
Exactly. We need more Church Talent show infiltration. That is the answer. and more Billy Dee Williams.
Wait, which Block Party stage is The Blister playing?
Love that hall-of-douchebags!
!!!!
You know "Lord of This World" is off Sabbath's uber-existential "Master of Reality" album, which includes the rocking "After Forever", a sort of pro-God jam that has great lines like:
"Could it be youre afraid of what your friends might say
If they knew you believe in God above?
They should realize before they criticize
That God is the only way to love"
"Lord of This World" itself can be seen as another one of Sabbath's "message songs" the lyrics describe a sort of "lost soul", in a way that fits pretty neatly into Christian theology. You can find the whole of the lyrics here.
Lots of Geezer Butler's lyrics in Black Sabbath seem to expouse an almost gnostic Christian viewpoint. The term "Lord of This World" can reffer to the Christian character of Satan (to which the song is seemingly warning against) or even the gnostic demiurge, a sort of false god of the material world that expouses itself as the one "true god" as a kind of the nemesis of the "higher god" of spirit and knowlege in gnostic theology.
So you know, not that inapporpriate. Black Sabbath consistantly denied that they were interested in black magic or the occult and were primarily warning against it... maybe hence the GIANT crucifixes they were constantly wearing.
Real "serious" (if there is such a thing) satanism doesn't get into the metal discourse until a few years down the line. Now if they had covered Venom or Slayer or Mayhem that would be a different story.
Scott G,
That was f'ing amazing. Thank you.
I'd be interested to hear what you have to say about Colt 45 "working everytime."
Please.
ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOKKKKK
Billy Dee IS smooth. The smoothest.
This is funny as shit.
