Seattle DJ Boyd Main (AKA transplanted New Zealander Mike Lakeman) has been hosting the most comprehensive and quality-rich radio show in the area for regional electronic music. Called Local ‘Lectric Lunch and broadcast every Tuesday from noon-2pm PST from UW’s online Rainy Dawg Radio station, the program centers on the Northwest’s fertile talent pool of technophiles. Besides having the coolest accent of any radio personality working in the city, Boyd Main is a keen arbiter of many forms of electronic music. He will school you and enrich your headspace immensely.

Read Boyd Main’s press release after the jump.

As part of Seattle radio's only daily local music block, this summer sees the launch of Local 'Lectric Lunch, every week on Tuesdays, Noon-2pm PST on Rainydawg Radio.

Local 'Lectric Lunch will focus on technology-driven music from across all of Cascadia, both that born from the software and hardware of our region's producers, and that nurtured and promoted by labels based in the Pacific Northwest.

After previously playing host to local electronic artists such as...
* Jake Elliot
* Zapan
* Kris Moon
* Mat Anderson
* Bruno Pronsato
* Mr Afternoon
* Absolute Madman
* Terso
* Nordic Soul
* Thee Outfit
* Aaron Bolton
* KFO
* Son of Rose
* Let's Go Outside
* Splinters
* Misha
* Justin Byrnes
* DJ Saigon
* Caro
* iMonk
* Rama
...Rainydawg is taking the next step, by instituting a weekly committment to representing the best of Cascadian 'Lectronic culture.

At this stage, Rainydawg invites submissions of music from Cascadian artists and labels, and solicits interest in live in-studio performances/interviews. Please contact LLL host Boyd Main at this email, or send music to:

Thanks for the mention, Dave. Just to let your readers know -- there'll be no Local 'Lectric Lunch today, the 4th of July, but we'll be back again at noon next Tuesday.

Rainy Dawg radio is AMAZING for a college station - the breadth of music on there is stunning and actually gives KEXP a run for their money. Last year saw some AMAZING dj's..the last DJ who did the tuesday electronica show (alex Ruder?) was mind-blowing. Give it a try...you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Yea mon-
Peep this show out. Boyd Main rules....

4

dj shani also plays excellent electronic sets. i heard she looks like a monkey though. too bad; she sounds hot.

Shani in the Morning (in the afternoon) deff. evolved from playing only nipplerocking blips and boops into playing all hits that haven't hit yet. She's the most on-top-of-things (and hot!) monkey at the RainyDawg Zoo.

6

shani does NOT look like a monkey at all. unless by monkey you mean unbelievably hot girl. but i guess who cares what she looks like if she spins cool tunes. check her out tuesdays 3-5 pm rainydawg.org!

not to steal the thunder from boyd main... his show rocks!

looking forward to the next one!

How totally stoked am I to be sitting in front of a computer in Guatemala and to finally see an excellent Rainydawg show featured in Line Out! Boyd Main rocks.
