Warped, Indeed

Posted by HANNAH LEVIN at 12:14 PM

I saddens me deeply to hear this story about a female musician being drugged and raped while playing the Warped Tour. The whole thing sounds unpleasantly plausible, and I’d really like to know what Joan Jett has to say. I’m currently trying to get in touch with her press rep; I’ll post anything I find out here.

Frat boys + mall punk = bad idea.

Why, was she raped on tour before?

Wait, scratch that. Unless she does an about face and says something along the lines of "she was asking for it" or "rape is good," my money's on Joan Jett saying that this was not a good thing.

Of course it's not a good thing--what I want to know is if she's going to remain on the tour, given the woman's charges of a cover-up by the promoters.

Hannah, thanks for giving this story more exposure. Also, for following through with a bit of hard-line idealism and investigation. Reckless rock n' roll should never justify or forgive rape. I want to know more about this guy Elvis from "Left Alone."
