The sad twist is that the song is such a perfect anti-blues, I play it over and over, envisioning the beginning of what would be the start of Mike Leigh's "Naked: 2" -- and the unbounded joy of the track is completely ironic, as much as it is dramatic -- those strings sweeping in just as the Thewlis character hobbles down the street, stolen pounds in hand, late for his next beating or various misadventure.
