The Future of the Mirabeau Room

The rumors have been swirling for quite some time, and it does look like the Queen Anne nightclub is headed for big changes in either ownership or ambience. Owner Dave Meinert has confirmed that a sale to an undisclosed party is pending; if that does not go through, the club will be closing for remodeling at the end of this week. This week’s poetry and comedy showcases (slated for tonight and Wednesday, respectively) will still take place; the last scheduled event is this Saturday, when the band “Awesome” will perform. I’ll post more details as they become available.

Dave and his crew took over a fucking staple of old Seattle (Sorry Charlies) and couldn't make it work? Boo-hoo.
Maybe they should have left it as was and it would have lasted another 50 years?
Perhaps they'll change the name to Sorry Dave's?
how fitting... and how hypocritical as well... dave always talks about supporting the Seattle "scene" and then he turns around and converts one of seattle's most historic/legendary bars into an overly slick DJ/burlesque/etc. joint with little to no real character of any sort. Shit, the damn Mirabeau was a cursed yuppie-pandering joke right from the get go. In conclusion, I wonder where Dave & company's crack track lighting team will head next... any ideas? LOL! Whatever the case, don't even think about "updating" the Moon Temple, as your beloved "scene" (and many of the square yuppies as well, ironically!) won't fucking stand for that! RAOTFL!!!

I'm curious to see what they do with the place, although none of the fixes will change the fact that it's in Queen Anne.
