In the unlikely event that there are any Line Out readers out there who don’t know why Chris Hong and I are so excited about heading to Chicago tomorrow, here’s a 10-minute explanation:

I'm envious. I'd love to be there. I saw Big Black at First Ave. in Mpls in '96 or '97. I remember it being the loudest show I'd ever attended. Not that I'd seen that many at age 16...but I seriously doubt many have topped it in the last 20 years.

Touch and Go was the best label of the 80s and 90s, at least if you measure that by their consistency. They really had very little output that was not good. Have fun in Chicago!
