What I’m currently listening to…

And I’m not ashamed. “Johnny, Are You Queer?” is a great song!
Okay it’s awful, actually. But I still love it.
“Johnny, are you… you know… ohhhh! Johnny!”
What’s getting you through the workday? And don’t be shy. Yours has to be much less embarrassing than mine.

The new Justin Timberlake. Somewhere in the last month or so I've become a fan of pop music. Oh well. This album's a good one - at least until the ballads hit on the second half.
For today:
“Lizard-Long-Tongue Boy” – Bridget St John
“Aventyr I Alperna” – Sagor and Swing
“Fairy Link” – Susumu Yokota
At home I've been digging back into my high school jazz band days and have listened to Coltrane's Giant Steps relentlessly along with the smooth organ sounds of Larry Young's Unity. Also in the organ vein, I've also been listening to a bunch of James Brown instrumental records where he's playing the keys with a sickness.
Last month's Wire Tapper CD and Bay Area raw free rock folksters P.A.F. have been commuting staples.

::sigh:: The same fate that befell Justified. C'mon JT! Stick with what you do best!
Chris--have you heard Larry Young's short-lived Love Cry Want project? (They have one self-titled CD available on newjazz.com, but I think it may be out of print.) You—and anybody who digs wildly psychedelic jazz fusion—need to hear it.
