Major Bummer For Ark Fans
Judging by the fact that along with editor Dan Savage, Stranger writers Kurt B. Reighley and Ma’Chell Duma LaVassar have written so enthusiastically about the Ark, it’s safe to say that we’re big fans here. Unfortunately, as previously feared and then refuted last week on Line Out, the Ark have cancelled most of the remaining dates on their U.S. tour, including their show scheduled at the Crocodile tomorrow.

'Tis a bummer. But Figurines are still playing, and Speaker Speaker have been added as openers for what is sure to be a fun Halloween show anyways.
I've been wanting to see Speaker Speaker but I'm just none too keen on Figurines to be honest. Planned on bailing after The Ark and then imbibing myself to death... Halloween and all.
Why is it that Seattle often gets the shaft when it comes to touring artists?
That's a good question -- based on what people have said around here for many years, it's because it's easier for touring acts to cut across from the Rockies to San Francisco, and then head down the coast. They leave Portland and Seattle (and Vancouver BC) out entirely all the time. It's lame.
But I believe The Ark cancelled because of death threats. Can you believe that shit? God Bless the U.S. of A.
Refunds are available from point of purchase if need be but, I can tell you this... the show is still crazy crazy good and now comes with at least 20% less death threats.

Sigh.
