Petals Like Bricks

New band alert!

I’ve been keeping my eye on Dustin Fujikawa for some time, which is probably incredibly creepy. I met him at the Vera Project, and then turned up for a house show that he happened to be performing at with his other band, Pillow Fight Fight (for some reason he seems to favor band names that are impossibly cute). I liked Pillow Fight Fight a lot, especially because the drummer, Carl, wore a padded boxing helmet that had been outfitted with a microphone inside of it so he could scream and drum. High-tech!

Anyhow, Dustin has a new band, Petals Like Bricks. They sound a lot like Pillow Fight Fight, which means they are Black Eyes influenced post-Fugazi skronky punk, whatever that means. I highly recommend you check them out. Bonus- they have a cello player, and she rocks the fuck out. They also all wear glasses. Nerds.

If you want to go see them live, which would probably be fun, you can do it at these two shows:
Thursday, Nov 2
Mars Bar
For the Fields
Skeletons With Flesh on Them
Petals Like Bricks
9pm
$6
21+ (boo!)

Saturday, Nov 4
Kirkland Teen Union Building
Just Raptors
The Hills Have Eyes
Roughnecks
Petals Like Bricks
7:30
$6
All Ages (yay!)

I discovered these guys a while ago, because Dustin was my target in Verassassins, and I was stalking him via the Internet. Sadly, I was taken out before I could finish the job.
