The Fun You Missed Last [Night]
The Ironclads and Flood the Void just played a benefit concert for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at the Husky Union Building (HUB) yesterday evening. I wish I’d gone to this last night instead (and thought to slog about it yesterday afternoon). Sorry guys. Did anyone else make it out to the show?

You can still donate the ticket price (or any other amount) to St. Jude’s via their website.

'twas quite the odd scene indeed. it didn't strike me so much as a "benefit show" as it did a "benefit conference with some bands playing a few songs each." most people seemed indifferent to the artists, and the ironclads' already short set was cut even shorter. there weren't any donation jars either, as you would expect at a benefit show. instead you could fill out some paperwork to have st. judes ask for donations via snail mail. we were like "really? we can't just, like, give you five bucks?"
aside from the unfamiliar vibe, the boys were awesome. they seem to be getting better every time i see them. i especially enjoyed their mellow rendition of "sleep now in the fire" by rage against the machine. go see them soon before they sell all their songs for thousands of dollars to clothing companies in new york and LA and forget all about seattle!

I saw the Ironclads and they fucking owned...it was a weird scene though...lotsa white sweatshirts, bleached hair, and vacant stares...that, and they showed videos of baby's with cancer in between sets...but yeah, the Clads rule.
