Out of Town Attn: Seattle Bands

There is life on Mars, I mean Yakima.

For Seattle bands and DJ’s looking to play out of town, Yakima’s Sports Center is a most excellent venue.
They have had - Viva Voce, These Arms Are Snakes, Mark Pickerel, Schoolyard Heroes, The Village Green, Mountain Con, Sirens Sister, Ian Moore, and Velella Velella, to name a few.
They feed the bands, treat them well, and there’s a big downstairs green room area to put your equipment before you play.

Get on 90 East, drive for 2 and half hours, and rock the shit out of those people.

Now this is the kind of stuff I want to see in the Stranger! thank you for this posting!
Good point Trent. A lot of Seattle bands seem to take these places for granted. There are cool people in every small town across this state. You might play for a smaller audience, but you will be rewarded by an appreciative audience that CRAVES live music.
Kudos.
My pleasure. Dan is great. It's a great place. Perfect for bands wanting road experience or touring bands going or coming east.
Look for the revolving neon rifle dude, you can't miss him.
Yes I played this place and it was a total riot.I do encourage anyone to do the same.
As a person who spent his formative years going to any punk show that went through Spokane, I whole heartedly agree that you cannot discount small town Washington's desire to have its socks rocked off by someone other than Journey cover bands.
i have not seen any live rock & roll at yakima's sprts center but i have had some damn good times there. that neon sign is even better in real life and you can buy the daily racing form at the bar. solid.
