And his name is Mika... And I fucking love this song. But I would, wouldn't I? He played two secret shows in the United States this week; one in Minneapolis yesterday, one in LA Monday. If anyone out there saw...

Wow, that's pretty amazing. Think he's ever heard any Queen? Who the hell is he? Where's he from? Ah, Lebanon. Funny thing about Myspace, it's not really about imparting information, is it? Apparently he just played two, count 'em, two, "secret US shows". This looks like a pretty well-orchestrated major-label hype bust-out. That's a pretty good song, though, isn't it?

Ouch, those Milli Vanilli barbs really sting, don't they? And so timely!

It's a great, great pop song, and I hope he sells a million here. It'll infuriate the meth addicts and retro-grunge heads and intricate-lead-guitar analysts, but that's one of the many pleasures of Pop.

You can't really hear the Nilsson in this one, but you can in "Billy Brown". I'm sure our Jeff here is a huge Nilsson fan, right?

There must be some nifty discussions between the music purists at the Stranger and those other members *cough*Dan*cough* who actually enjoy a little semi-mindless pop.
Don't let the haters get you down, Dan. Be it from boy-bands to intelligent, well-thought out pop, fun music has a place in the world, liberal elites be damned. :)
On this song; I'm not sure I like it yet, but it IS a ton of fun. The waves of gay kept slapping me through the screen; I'm still not used to seeing mainstream music that doesn't suffer from or get censored by American homophobia, and being a butch gay guy I (sadly) still reflexively cringe a bit when I see grade-A sashaying like this. I AM, however, going to send the link to every friend I have, gay and straight, to share the joy.
