To that idiot who had the nerve last night to ask for my opinion of the best pop band of the second half of the 20th century, here is my answer again: Roots Radics.
First, it’s not an opinion but the truth. Second, there isn’t even a close second to the Roots Radics. Maybe early PIL? Maybe Joy Division? Maybe The Blacks Unlimited? Maybe the JBs? Maybe Stimela? The distance between the Radics and the rest is so great that the others are as if in a mist that covers the edge of the known world—the edge of the Radics’ perfect timing, the dialectic of their bass and drop, their depth and spaces, and the ultimate radiance of their brass arrangements. Dub, the highest achievement in pop music—the ghost of pop music, the idea of pop itself—would be nothing without the soul of the best of all bands.
Nobody cares Charles. Is there anyone that really actually cares about your thoughts for real?

Dub is awesome, yes, but it isn't as central to pop (as most people know it) as you imply. Wishful thinking on your part, Charles?

Are "The JBs" the Jungle Brothers or something else I haven't heard of?
The JBs were James Brown's backing band. They were tight as fuck.
I just do not know where to start with all those statements you made Charles. Best left alone I guess.
But from that time period I am more a "Creation Rebel / New age steppers fan / Threat to Creation".
