MIA’s Bird Flu Video

posted by on February 6 at 10:54 AM

MIA’s new song has some totally kickin’ percussion, and she dances with a goat! What’s not to love?

i really just want a new piracy funds terrorism, and watching that video just made that more true.

also, i'm curious to see how djs work that song into a mix. it's just off-kilter enough that i could see it being difficult to mix in. but i'm not a dj, so i'm only guessing.

Maybe I'll get a chance to post some more thoughts about this later, but this is kind of exactly what I've been expecting after the Diplo/MIA split: Diplo goes on cleaning up various world-ghetto traditions for the Hollertronix set, MIa goes even deeper into her righteous third world liberation dance party mission. Should be interesting to see how Timbaland figures into things...

Quite a potent track.
I hope that everyone in the video got paid a fair wage.

she's quoted as saying she called this song "Bird Flu" because "the beat's gon kill everybody"

I couldn't agree more.
