Song Name That Democrat’s Theme Song!
posted by on February 7 at 13:02 PM

Last week in DC, the Democratic National Committee held its annual winter meeting, featuring presentations by several of the Dems’ presidential candidates, including Hillary Rodham Clinton, Barack Obama, John Edwards, Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd, and Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich, each of whom got to select his or her own intro/outro music. Some used the same song for both, some picked different songs for coming and going. Can you guess who picked what? Good luck, answers after the jump.
1. John Mellencamp’s “This is Our Country”
2. The Temptations’ “Get Ready (Cause Here I Come)/The Temptations’ “Reach Out”
3. Jesus Jones’ “Right Here, Right Now”/Bachman-Turner Overdrive’s “You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet”
4. “America the Beautiful”
5. “decided against using any music in keeping with the somber tone he sought to convey”
1. John Edwards
2. Chris Dodd
3. Hillary Rodham Clinton
4. Dennis Kucinich
5. Barack Obama

Jesus *#@%* Jones?! If anyone needed further evidence that Clinton is unelectable, surely this is it.
someone should have used sam cooke's "a change is gonna come." it would bring the fucking house down.
i wish i could be obama's DJ.
Agreed. Although, had Obama selected the Sam Cooke song, Fox News would've done an primetime expose debunking his claim of being born by the river in a little tent...
Obama ought take James Brown's I'm Black And I'm Proud and make it I'm Barack and I'm Proud!! SAY IT LOUD!
Chris Dodd has picked killer theme songs. Now I need to check out his ideas...
nipper, in the words of david cassidy, i think i love you.....
the Daily Show covered this last night, redubbing the soundtrack with some more inspired choices [comedycentral].
Whoops, that'll learn me to not have cable...
