Police File

posted by on February 12 at 10:53 AM

Very soon we’ll be regaled with a live web broadcast of a Police rehearsal from the Whiskey in L.A. If last night’s Grammy cameo was any indication, it’s worth checking out:

Unfortunately I missed the whole thing. Anybody catch it?

old guys doing roxanne? are you kidding? it's not like sting ever took that song out of his live set list anyway. hell, i saw the police in '82 at the coliseum (that's the key arena to you new folks) and they were bloated oldies already at that point.

my advice is to fuck the hype, save your $$$ (they don't need it) and enjoy the '77 Beat Club version of the police (videos available on YouTube for free).

RE #1: The Police bloated oldies around Ghost In The Machine and Synchronicity? You're obviously an idiot. I saw them perform during the Ghost In The Machine tour...hardly old and bloated. I bet Sting could've tantric fucked you all night during that period, possibly now as well. I'm not going to spend money to see them reunite, but I think it's pretty cool they got back together. They sounded awesome on the Grammy's.

RE #2 (how appropriate): ghost in the machine tour. 1982 at the seattle center coliseum. the police and huey lewis and the news. hardly a vital and exciting rock and roll show in my idiotic opinion.

Dear ">>>",

Come on, who are you fooling? You love Huey Lewis and the News. Why else would you have been at the Seattle Center Coliseum in 1982? Don't pretend. You probably had hair gel in, a Member's Only jacket and designer jeans on. Oh wait, you were probably too cool for that, like way ahead of your time right? Thank god your here to save people from a Police reunion. Excellent work cool guy!

>>> has a point. in 1982 andy summers was 40 (thanks wikipedia) and touring with huey lewis. so come on get real. the police were really cool at one point in time. now they are just looking to put a new wing on the mansion at your expense. sorry grandpa, you no longer rock.

but then again seattle doesn't really rock anymore either. enjoy the show. hope it blows your mind.
