just another sign that Rawkus is a shit label with no talent now. seriously. blue scholars are wack. rawkus is wack. match made in wack heaven. the last time Rawkus was worth a shit was just after Soundbombing 2 came out. since then it's been watered down attempts at mainstream rap. attention seattle rap bands like old dominion and blue scholars. you fucking suck! good luck playing shows to white kids with backpacks and allowance money from momz.

u2lr sounds a little bitter, a little over the top, but they have a point. Rawkus is a hollow shell of what it once was which is why they can afford to sign an act with very little unique talent. Blue Scholars may have been exciting if they had come out in 98 or 99 but 8 years after the fact, they're just boring music for white people who usually don't like rap. What was the last good album on Rawkus? Does anyone who likes rap still look out for Rawkus records? I think we all know the answer to that. Good luck Blue Scholars. Sucks to be a decade late to a party that's already finished.

Procussions and Naledge (who's done a lot of work with Lupe Fiasco) seem decent. The new Jazzmatazz should be good, maybe. Seems like Rawkus is just starting again, will be interesting to see where they go. Like he Scholars or not, a lot of people seem to love them up and down the west coast. They're either late to the party or starting a new one. Guess we'll see.

As Larry says, this is good for Seattle. It will get a lot of attention for the scene here. Common Market and Gabriel Teodros will of course benefit immediately from the association, but in the long run, Blue Scholars' hyping of Seattle (which they seem to do a lot) should bring some attention to the rest of the scene as well - Dyme Def, Cancer Rising, D Black, Macklemore, Saturday Knights, Grayskul should all benefit and I'm sure we'll see a ton of new acts emerge, labels sign them, and press and radio start paying attention. Now let's hope radio catches up with the fans.

This isn't the same Rawkus that left Mos claiming they owed him money. It's headed by new people now and Blue Scholars certainly wouldn't sign to a situation that they're not going to benefit from. They're doing great without a label so I think they understood the implications when they inked the deal.

Also, that Panacea album was one of the best of last year. Geo and Sab will fit in well with where the label stands now.

None of these labels deserve any business until the RIAA stops suing anyone and everyone.

it doesn't matter that rawkus used to be a lot better, and it doesn't matter if the scholars are sometimes boring. the point is that the artists on rawkus now sound a lot like blue scholars and are not BAD by any stretch of the imagination. that means rawkus is being selective and deliberate about their signings. hate it or love it, it's a perfect fit!

those who compare rawkus to what it used to be... yall are the same people who compare nas' illmatic to the rest of his albums.

stop it.

rawkus is workin in a new direction, and to me its dope.

the golden age has come and gone. accept it. move on.

to that bitter first poster who is probably staring at his old rawkus shirt thats all worn out, crying...

you need to go kiss your autographed vintage pharoah monch poster circa 98 and go make a beat by sampling yourself saying "i miss the old days"

dont forget to use a delay for that added "umph"

ill spend my lunch money to cop that.
