Ha, thanks for posting that Jon. I never thought I would see the words jam and band used together in a positive way in the Stranger. I’m bummed I missed Skerik’s show, and have been meaning to check out Whalebones, so thanks for the tips. Skerik’s been holding it down here since the 90’s and deserves all the props he gets. I don’t know if patchwork will become the new tight jeans in Seattle (even I haven’t rocked those since ’97), but I do think there is a large community of fans here in Seattle & the surrounding areas that would come see those bands – if only the press would cover them. Next up – a KEXP Jam Band radio show... One can dream. Thanks again.
Jam bands? Promoted in the most punk rock obsessed city in the United States? I don't believe it. Could we be seeing the result of one too many overpromoted teenage garage rock bands? I mean, eventually the cool hair and barre chords and loud amps and howl-screaming get boring, don't they?
