If you didn’t get tickets to Modest Mouse’s weird Naval Yard appearance tomorrow night fret not: The reluctant rodent just announced a date at the Paramount on April 15. Tickets cost $35 and go on sale this Sunday, March 24 at all Ticketbastard outlets, Ticketmaster.com, or HOB.com.
I know I'm going to sound like a hater here and that's not my intent (I like Modest Mouse), but unless they've gotten WAY better in the last few years, Modest Mouse live is NOT worth $35 (to me anyway). But I am but one man with one opinion...
I'll see your hater and raise you one jaded, Donte:
Even with the occasional knifing, there is just no way Modest Mouse's shows now could be as unpredictably wonderful and disastrous as they used to be. There was a period of time when Brock's chaotic slurring of one song into another made for some truly exciting moments, but that was ages ago.
But then again, I suppose if you're just hoping to hear album tracks faithfully reproduced, the newer Modest Mouse live show would be an improvement.
We'll see, I guess. I'll be at one or both of these shows for sure.
i went to see them play down on eastlake 3 days ago for the "secret show" thing. and they were really good...they played all the new songs and were very good live...35 dollors is really fucking high for a ticket though. i really dont like paying that much for the paramount...cus its not the greatst venue...showbox would be a much better show...still deciding if im going to buy a ticket...

I'm just psyched to see Johnny Marr play.
"reluctant rodent", really?
Fan club presale tickets have already sold out. Over at Northwest Music Blog, there is post on how to get around ticketmaster service charges...
