Pitchfork is reporting that Miranda July has been confirmed (for readings) as well.

Yeah, I just threw the music up in herrrrrre. They're also adding a third comedy stage, which is wonderful madness.

Whatever. Wu Tang without ODB is like a night without stars. Definitely a lineup (Earle, Roky, Shins, Crowded House, Holmes Bros., world-music blah blah blah) geared to librarians in their late 40s.

If there is a 40-year-old librarian out there who likes Roky Erickson, could you please give her my number? I would like to put one million babies inside of her.

Not impressing anyone I know so far. Looks a touch weak. I hope they amp it up in the coming weeks. Looks like a slightly hipper Puyallup at this point.

They usually release their info in waves. Expect many more big headliners, along with lots of smaller bands to fill in.

@8: I like Roky fine, but the last good song he wrote was in 1971. According to Wikipedia, he drives a Volvo now.

@12: More big headliners? Given the $$ that WTC, The Shins and Panic! at the Whatever demand (not to mention Earle), coupled with One Reel's well-documented budget issues, I think we know 2 if not 3 of the stadium night headliners.

It just strikes me as weird that so many of the bigger bookings are geared to an older crowd, while the median age at B'shoot usually is somewhere around 18.

#13: They haven't announced all of the headliners, this is a promise. There is a very specific marketing scheme when you start selling tickets in april to something in september- you have to keep reminding people all summer to buy those tickets. They could pay for advertising, but they get a lot more free when they announce big name headliners throughout the summer.

One Reel's money troubles may be a concern, but those three (Wu, Panic, and Shins) are not all B-Shoot has in store. I predict that Panic is playing during the day in the stadium anyhow, so we've got at least one more night to fill and two more days.

Roky Motherfuckin' Erickson. I may be able to die a happy man.

#13 and #14, perhaps you missed this announcement earlier this year: One Reel is now paired with AEG Live. So, money is no longer an issue. This will give One Reel a boost of money and a leg up on snagging some huge acts.

Expect some pretty huge names to be announced.

Have some patience.

Seeing Panic at the Everett's Event Center recently makes me think that they could be an evening show just because of their mostly onstage circus stick.

When you're waiting in line, wi-fi the slog archives about last year's bumberpoot. Right, this year will be different!!

Ari: Uh, yeah. Not doubting that more aren't on the way. Bumbershoot has employed the same marketing technique for years and years. And yet its ticket sales still have slipped, yes? OK, I'm gonna stop snarking ... it's not like any of us are in any way tied to how Bumbershoot is booked or makes its dough.

Oh wait ...

Whatevs @16! Thank you for the insider information! I'll look forward to July's announcement of soon-to-be-headliners Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne, Paul Anka, Daniel Nesta Marley and a reunited URGE OVERKILL. Bottle of Fur! Now that's the barclords.

Horatio,

It's a family festival. Don't expect them to announce anything too wild. I guess you haven't been paying attention to previous headliners:

David Lee Roth, Lou Reed,Steve Miller Band, etc...

Hooray for Roky! He hasn't written any good songs since 1971? Yeah, right. You try going through electroshock therapy and writing a song as beautiful as "You Don't Love Me Yet". Friends of mine who saw him at Noise Pop this year said it was outstanding.
