Decibel Creates Online Music Store

posted by on May 7 at 14:55 PM

The Decibel organization is making an understandable next step in its quest to solidify Seattle’s footprint in the world of electronic music. They’re teaming with Crazy Bird Records to create an online music store with focus (initially anyway) on artists from the Pacific Northwest. They’re currently looking for material. Full details on submission criteria and the project after the jump.

[ FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ]

Decibel and the soon to be launched Crazy Bird Record Label out of Seattle
are teaming up to bring you the NW Electronic Music Online Store (proper
name to follow). The initial concept will feature NW electronic music
artists (Seattle, Portland, Vancouver, etc) with plans to expand out to
national and international acts in 2008. That being said, Decibel is seeking
MP3 submissions for this on-line music store.

REQUIREMENTS:
- NW artist only
- Must be some form of electronic music (Electro Pop, Dub, Dance, Hip Hop,
Ambient, Noise, etc)
- Exclusive content (negotiable depending on your label arrangements)
- Up to 10 submissions per moniker
- 320k size MP3 files only (high quality MP3)

SUBMISSION PROCESS:
- Please send MP3 LINKS (NOT ACTUAL FILES) to sean@dbfestival.com
- Use the follow naming configuration for the files ( artist title_song
title.mp3 )
- If you are selected, we'll be contacting you with further information
(PLEASE DON'T FOLLOW UP)
- If you don't have the means to upload / link MP3 files you can also send a
CD to:

Decibel
8816 10th Ave SW
Seattle, WA 98106

Contracts, fees and percentages are currently being negotiated. Rest
assured, the main focus of this on-line store will be exposure for the
artist, not profit margins.

The top artist submissions will be selected to perform at the VIP Lounge
(Neumos) as part of the 2007 Decibel Festival's "NW Showcase".

Let's hear what you've got Cascadia!!! :)

Cheers,
