I See This As a Challenge, Seattle

posted by on May 15 at 13:49 PM

So while the McLeod Residence is hosting an Eric Lashes benefit this Thursday here in Seattle, some friends of Eric in New York are throwing one as well… and not only do they have some sweet bands playing, they made a commercial for the party.

Honestly! Are you going to take this kind of artistic insolence, McLeod Residence? Can a city 3,000 miles away beat Eric’s hometown in spirit?

wow altamont. don't hesitate to call on your community when you're in need of help. you're obviously a lot more deserving of our support and compassion.

I think people are going to leave really mean comments because they aren't aware of how serious this injury is. It just really sucks because his family has to read this garbage and it is really hard for them. Eric is the nicest guy I know and i am totally heartbroken that he is hurt. This is a really hard time for him and those around him. People should try to wait until they know the details of the story before they say something cheap about a tragic situation. There has been something mean said on every single blog written about this situation and it is really annoying. And if you are going to say something cheap, at least make it 1/2 way witty, you fucking moron.

I am thinking that if you (Altamont) dont even know Eric adn you seem to have this "Holy-Than-Thou, I dont give a shit attitute".... WHY THE FUCK POST AT ALL!? Honestly.

The severity of the situation was beyond explaination. It isnt like eric broke a finger or sprained an ankle. You need to go learn the meaning of RESPECT. Oh here:

re·spect (rĭ-spěkt') Pronunciation Key tr.v. re·spect·ed, re·spect·ing, re·spects

1. To feel or show deferential regard for; esteem.
2. To avoid violation of or interference with: respect the speed limit.
3. To relate or refer to; concern.

It's true Eric will probably not walk again until technology makes great strides, which I will hope for with all my heart. Please send him your thoughts and well wishes (and funds, if you can) for he is truly a wonderful human being whose small gestures, kind words, and humble observations on life have made me feel very lucky that I know him. If you feel like insulting him or his friends at a time like this you a) have no idea who he is and b) will probably live an arduous, lonely, and pitiful existence for a very long time - which I am sure is almost already the case.
