Crap, now it's stuck in my head again. It took all day yesterday to get it out.
I like this song, but it's sort of set off a bit of a musico-philosophical quandry for me.
The issue is, if you had told me this was a new Daft Punk song, I'd have believed it without a moment's doubt. So, the question I ask myself is, is it OK to like a good song even if it is, stylistically speaking, a shameless copy of another band?
I guess I lean toward saying yes, since popular music probably would've come to a standstill decades ago if it weren't for bands shamelessly copying one another.
It's not a shameless copy, it's logical progression. Justice are on the record label of Daft Punk's former manager, so they're essentially Daft Punk's proteges.
not to mention that while dance music might all sound the same to an outsider the same thing could be said for most rock, rap, country, etc.
oh and there were plenty of people doing electro/disco house music before daft punk.
