Sasquatch M.I.A. Cancels Sasquatch Appearance

According to the Sasquatch website, M.I.A. has had to cancel her appearance at the festival due to visa issues. What a bummer. Two out of the three times she’s set to perform for the Seattle audience, she’s had this problem. Is she a sound terrorist or something?
Looks like the Long Winters have been added in her place.

Fuck the Long Winters. If their blend of cocky, yet safe sof-rock is your bag then you are part of the problem. And by problem I mean sexually frustrated, single, 30-something, KEXP listeners.

It's totally not just you. I wish we could do something about it. Gawd, it's so frustrating, especially because they always seem to find out days before you were supposed to see a show. Like, does MIA show up at the airport and then they don't let her in?

@4 - you need to check yourself. What's with the hating on people with sexual frustration? I have no idea what your personal life is like, but I do know this, sexual frustration is usually a good catalyst for interesting art. Also @4, I'm surprised that you think having an independant, eclectic local radio station (KEXP) is a problem. It is not an indie-rock conspiracy, but just a festival scrambling at the last minute to fill a recently vacated spot.

this is just ridiculous. mia's appearance no doubt played a pretty big part in many people's decision about whether to attend or not. and now, just days before the show, they drop this on us? if i weren't such a die-hard bjork fan, there's absolutely no way saturday is worth its nearly $80 price.
If John wasn't such a nice dude I would cry "lame. " However replacing m.i.a. with long winters does kinda suck and a huge bummer . Just move on.
Big music festivals blow anyway.
I don't listen to KEXP but I am 24 and LOVE the Long Winters and they are great live. I could really care less about Sas or MIA this year though.
Booooooo... MIA was about 20% of the reason I was going so this. The Long Winters kind of suck ass. MIA is a much more lively act and I was really looking forward to her energy to liven up everyone. The Long Winters are going to be a long bore and put me to sleep like most of the soft indy trendy stuff this year. Bombs away is right in his post. The fact is that all of the KEXP djs and a lot of the listeners ARE 30-40 something and forgot how to have fun or energy. They play the same music all day and night that I use to fall asleep........snoore.........
I flew from LA to see M.I.A. I don't buy this Visa butshit because she has had Visa issues since 2003. She is a great artist and the promoter is taking the $ to the bank while leaving a shitty group as a replacement. You got to love this capitalizim....
