Sasquatch Mas Squatch

Eric Grandy, your Sasquatch! post was, like this festival itself, epic.
But I must take issue with your classifying of Citizen Cope as “hippy crap.” I know hippy crap, and hippy crap is far better than whatever the hell it is that Cope does.
Also, you and Cody V. (aka the Third Gallant) are dead wrong about the Beastie Boys. It sounds like you didn’t stick around for the full set, but it was stellar. If you’ve ever been a fan—and for me, that’s going back 20 years—you couldn’t not love their extended instrumental set last night. The banter between songs was priceless enough, but the songs themselves were energized, tight, and raucous. I’m psyched for their main stage set tonight. I just hope the wind lays down by showtime.

I did skip out a few songs into the Beastie Boys' set, but I'm glad to hear it picked up. I hope they manage to play tonight, too.
You are correct in your assessment of Citizen Cope. I asked Eric about that guy on Friday as someone had told me "if you're into hip hop, you'll loooooove Citizen Cope." I have never felt more lied to. I got through about 23 seconds of that record before my brain started to bleed. It's definitely for the Matisyahu crowd.
On that note, the winds did you a favor when they cut Polyphonic Spree short. Aren't all their songs, like, 40 minutes long anyhow?
To be fair, Citizen Cope was having some major sound issues. I dig his albums but the mix kind of butchered his/their set.
i've always thought cope sounds like the slingblade character.
"Definitely for the Matisyahu crowd"....Fuck you.
So now the Matis crowd deserves a Fuck you? Well SOMEBODY likes him because he sold out three shows here in October and although last night's show at the Showbox was free because of some Camel promo, people we lined up around the block to see him. He's not hippy or hip hop; he's original. Not like to 100 yr. old Beastie Boys or craptastic Bjork. Which album made your brain bleed; he has 3!
Um, #6, #5 was clearly saying "fuck you" to #2, not to the "matisyahu crowd" itself. put down the bong and work on your reading comprehension.
Velvet Revolver sold out a show at the Showbox. Robin Williams has sold out, like, three frickin' shows. So filling a venue is not necessarily a hallmark of quality.
However, I will agree with #6's questioning of the Beastie Boys' relevance.
Eric, you could use some Matisyahu and Citizen Cope in you're life. I do not smoke however and I read just fine thank you.
I meant your life. Thank you.
