Kevin Drew - Tbtf

“Broken Social Scene Presents Kevin Drew, Spirit If…” isn’t the most wieldy title ever, but it’s at least more self-explanatory than lead single “Tbtf.” Still, some explanation: Spirit If… is the first in a series of Broken Social Scene LPs written by individual Social Scenesters (Brendan Canning is slated for the next album in the series). Arts & Crafts will release the album September 18th, and Broken Social Scene will perform the new material at select dates this summer.

Is the significance of solo releases by members of a cool band diluted when the band has 10 jillion members? Is this why they have to have the band name in the title of the CD? Although it seems Feist and Jason Collett have gotten by OK without it . . .

An outdoor Broken Social Scene + Feist show at the end of summer in Seattle? Color me thrilled beyond belief!

Doesn't Kevin Drew already write about half of the B.S.S. material anyway? This seems like a chance for the B.S.S. core members to get a taste of the solo project experience so beloved by other members of the collective.

Oh, where's McCarren park and when can I get tickets?

Damn, poor reading comprehension and dot-connecting skills: That show is at McCarren Pool in Brooklyn.

after listening to the song, it appears that "Tbtf" means "Too beautiful to fuck"
