This album: by this band: Came out only a year before this album: by this band: Both were products of late-'80s Seattle but couldn't be more different. Stylistically, sonically, lyrically, they might as well have come from different planets. Queensryche...

Queensryche was/is a product of Bellevue and 80's cock rock.

...and Duh is correct.

Seattle proper doesn't really have anything to do with how either band got to be who they are/were.

Comment by back in the '80s

Sub Pop is in Seattle, so I can understand the Seattle stretch. If not for Sub Pop Nirvana might not have made Nevermind. Jack Endino certainly helped put the Melvins heavy into Bleach. If only the way heavier version of Bleach (bootlegged) had made it onto record. But besides a relative geographical connection the two bands in 1991 would have had very little to do with each other. @ the time any and all '80s hair metal was a joke, Hanoi Rocks being the exception, not ironic/iconic as it has sadly become. I think the better comparison might be Mudhoney!

No one remembers Tad (except one of my college professors), so they don't work. BTW, Queensryche could be pretty rad, gosh darn it. Very corny, but sometimes you gotta have it like that. Jet City Woman is my number one jam, yo.
