last i checked AI isn't cool. why so much coverage from a hip, indie rag?
Um, did I just hear Ra Scion refer to Blake Lewis as "B-Shorty"? LAME!
Blake Lewis has been going by B-Shorty for a few years now. He was B-Shorty before he got Idol huge.
you can also see clips of Blake Lewis, aka B-Shorty, jamming with FLOWMOTION. The Clips are on YouTube and on FLOWMOTION's website.

how do you people know so much about blake lewis and why do you care? go cure cancer or something. blake lewis really sucks!
haha blue scholars look like nerds when they try to act all contemplative w/ dorky sunglasses and wringing their hands together.
Does Sabzi kind of looks like a hyphy ostritch?
blue scholars sucks! whatever happened to REAL hiphop?
seems as if boo's had a little too much boo. dork.
boo - real hiphop - you mean like YOUR band?
love the Scholars! Sabzi and Geo are hometown heroes. did anyone even watch the video? dropping words about military recruiters in the schools is more than you're doing today, right?
Damn, that's a heavy video. Props, because that shit hits close to the heart.
I understand if beatboxing is not your style, but trashing on a guy just because he's on AI is kind dumb. Blake (b-shorty) has been around here for a few years playing shows. He won the state beatboxing championship, so he must be considered good by some folks. Just because he used a popular tv show to boost his fame and help get his foot in the door, he shouldn't be chastized. Call it selling out if you wish, but he's still a talented guy. He may not the greatest singer, but he's defininitely an entertainer. Before he went on AI he was considered hip and indie, so it's fitting that the Stranger is paying attention. Maybe they're a little behind-the-times, but there's a lot to keep up with around here, musically speaking.
man, that video is HEAVY. really, really powerful and really well done.
dear 'brad' at the top of the list and to all people who put labels and names of styles before listening and fealings... i hate 'indie' and i think it is a terrable monopoly on the seattle publicated music scene and it sucks and people like you who call things 'not indie' and therefore un-musical to me SUCK BALLS the stranger is a MUSIC mag not an INDIE mag and i aplaud the coverage of the 'music scene'. Blake and all his friends were truly indie, and underground, and under publicized for years and now he is the biggest thing to come out of seattle since nirvana (not to compare) so i personally would like to see this coverage and fuck the preconcieved 'indie rag' lest hear about the music the music.
sorry brad but i had to say it... any ways... you don't suck but you get the point...
So according to some "indie snobs" on this site, it's only cool if you're unknown and not able to make a good living doing what you love. Nuts to that!
You go, Blake! We love you! and I hope you hack off a lot of people here by being famous AND making a great living, too $$$! Being unknown by the general public and struggling to earn a living isn't necessarily a great virtue, people. It's no sin, either. But don't try to paint it as some great virtue, either.
If you can't make a decent living at something, then fewer people will know about you. That's just the way it is. Get off your indie high horse. It looks silly.
