really? 'no one' had any idea (who har mar was)? maybe the majority of folks, but 'no one' is a little pretentious, no?

Um, I think that was an 'M' for Monster, who sponosored the afterparty, not Meinert. But good idea, I might need to get one of those of my own.

So Cancer Rising, who also performed in Neumos, had the crowd going way better than Gabriel Teodros' crew... However, I loved Macklemore, El Dia and others up on stage. And DJ WD-40 was hot.

PS, I was standing back by the sound booth during that whole Dyme Def "technical difficulty" episode, and it mostly consisted of various members of the Seattle hiphop world bounding back to tell the sound guy to turn up the bass. "Turn up the fucking bass!" And then the guy would be like "I'm TRYING!" And then the first guy would be like "I'm just SAYING!" and run back towards the stage. It made me laugh. And then someone handed me a joint and I didn't care anymore.

viva la block party! my favorite show was daft punk, hands down. and i totally agree about spoon being average. they had one catchy song but i left after their third. as for the local bands, i think that both the cave singers and fleet foxes totally killed it. i can't believe i haven't heard more about them. but grand archives? ugh. i've heard so much more about them and was totally excited to finally see them. but despite some pretty moments, there was absolutely nothing special there.
