There was a lot of overlap between the S+K opening sets and what they played at Chop Suey, but the better sound and amped crowd made that irrelevant. I was again disappointed by The Rapture gys, but they played great tracks even if their mixing was godawful half the time. Anybody that drops "Big Fun" is alright by me.

Okay. We get it. Daft Punk was great. Can you stop writing about it? One more post and I'll stop reading Line Out (and The Stranger) completely.

C'mon guys, it's excessive. There has to be something more newsworthy out there than this.

Oh, let's see. Biggest electronic act on the planet, first Seattle show in like 10 years, one of only a half dozen US appearances, 7,000 people strong in attendance. If you think there's something more newsworthy around, I'd fucking love to hear what it is.

Watch out Paul, we might start putting more up about the Block Party. I kid, I kid.

Daft Punk is the biggest thing to hit Seattle in a REALLY long time, so you'll have to forgive our gushing. I think it's just about out of our collective system, at least until next week's Daft Punk Memorial Issue.

Didn't think so.

I skipped the after party, but wanted to add what everyone's failed to say yet: The Rapture have stepped up their game, big time. Last time I saw them was at Graceland and I was less than impressed. Kids rocked that shit, and the crowd was having it.

The thickness of their bass synths coming through the mains was physically moving the organs in my chest cavity.

whatevs,
i thought this was the worst performance i've seen the rapture do yet. sure, it was technically sound and very adequate, but they didn't have the same vibe they usually do, slowing the tempo on even their most party-oriented stuff. i wanted to rock out to them, but i just couldn't do it.

I didn't think I had any more energy until I heard SebastiAn on the Chop Suey speakers.... It was madness. Also - I heard that Guy and Thom were there sans robot costumes. Definitely a night to remember.

Yo the Rage Against The Machine remix is actually by Sebastian. I had to ask DJ Falcon about it when I was backstage kicking it with Thomas, Guy, and Stefan Queme (Falcon). Best nite of my life!!
