History I Was Only Seventeen

People make mistakes. People have confessions, things they have done that cause regret or shame.
Like buying Winger. I did it. The memory has surfaced and is hard to swallow. Sure, I was young. But there is no excuse.

The self titled Winger with “She’s Only Seventeen” on it. I went to Turtles Records and Tapes in Atlanta and bought it. I also bought Poison’s Look What the Cat Dragged In.
The first music I ever bought with my own money was Culture Club Colour by Numbers, which holds up much better than the Winger. I liked “Karma Chameleon”. I brought it home, put it in a boom box, pressed play, and played Nerf basketball.

Two weeks later I bought Elton John’s Greatest Hits, which redeems me somewhat, but it doesn’t fix the fact that I bought Winger.
I bought Winger. I actually bought Winger.

There there, Trent. Don't feel bad. I bought the Damn Yankees.
I think all of us have made an ebarrassing music choice at one point or another.
I used to like Billy Idol and it makes sick.
Nothing is worse than Megadeth. Try looking at yourself in the mirror after that purchase.
Nothing like a 35 year-old man singing about a 17 year-old girl.
Hot.
umm, back in 1984, big bam boom by hall & oates was my first tape purchase.. and it was because i had a crush on our babysitter. she always listened to "out of touch" and i wanted to impress her that i had it too.
oh yeah.. and around 8th grade i actually saw winger with cinderella at the san diego sports arena.. i think i thought it was lame back then and stopped listening to that crap shortly after.
My first ever concert was...
Mr. Big opening for Winger at the Paramount.
Oh the shame!!! :O
