News Local MCs House/Studio Fire

Peace to the homies in N/NW- Thursday night there was a fire at their Westlake house and recording space that has left them homeless. The story is here in the P-I(and here for video)
This, just a night before the best look they’ve yet gotten- opening up for MF Doom at The Showbox last night(MF of course cancelled, and Redman performed in his stead). Weak. Keep your heads up fellas.
Anybody know ANYTHING about why MF Doom had to cancel, or what's been up with him lately?

Re: MF Doom--I've heard from a reliable source that his recent live performances (when he can even be bothered to do 'em) consist of him lip-synching to his own recordings; sometimes he doesn't even appear onstage, but instead sends someone else up there to lip-synch. Dude said the Doom he saw was much thinner than the actual Doom. WTF?!
I haven't personally witnessed this, but apparently Doom lip-synched at Rock the Bells, whose SoCal date was a disaster of epic proportions, according to a friend who attended.
word was the SF date wasn't even him, it was a fucking stand-in.
kinda disrespectful to just send a doombot.
