Overheard in the Office

posted by on August 15 at 16:10 PM

Christopher Frizzelle: What’s the story with Def Leppard?

Jonathan Zwickel: “Uh, they have a drummer with one arm.”

Christopher Frizzelle: “Do they suck?”

Jonathan Zwickel: “No! They rule! They’re fucking Def Leppard!”

My Def Leppard conversation:

Friend: Dude, this drummer isn't very good

Me: Well, it is Def Leppard

Friend: What does that have to do with it?

Me: The drummer has one arm

Friend: Damn, this drummer is AWESOME!

I think this proves that the Stranger needs a new music editor already.

i stand behind "pyromania" as one of the better metal albums of the early '80s. i was 10 years old in 1984 and my big brother got me into the record.

"rock of ages?" hell yeah. "photograph?" fuggeddaboutit!

Agreed, jz...but remember, when "Pyromania" was recorded, the drummer still had both arms.

@8: Of course, the drum sounds on Pyromania came straight from Mutt Lange's drum machine. Rick Allen just played cymbals. With both hands.
