Media Who’s the NW’s Best MC?

The Mass Line message board has in the midst of an interesting competition:
Who’s the Northwest’s best MC? Getcha vote on—this poll will weigh a lot heavier if people actually ring in. Right now there’s only 30 votes.
Mine’s the only one for Libretto, the tragically slept-upon PDX MC whose debut The Last Element was one of the best hiphop albums of ‘03. Along with Lifesavas, Libretto is part of Missfit Massive; The Last Element features deep, swinging soul-funk production by Jumbo the Garbageman. Libretto’s got a wicked flow, gruff and assertive but laid back, and lyrically he navigates between hardened street realities and liberation from them.
Seriously, if you NW heads haven’t heard the album yet, you gotta check it out. It came out on Dim Mak—a very unhiphop indie/punk label in L.A.—and never got the push it deserved. I’ve tried reaching out to the label and contacting Libretto through his MySpace but haven’t heard anything back. There’s no word whether he’s got another album in the works, but he plays Portland’s Pop Now! festival this Sunday and Berbati’s Pan on August 24.
No YouTube, no MP3s. His MySpace is your best bet to hear some tunes. Once you do, you’ll wanna go vote for the dude in Mass Line’s poll.

Where's Mr. Business????

Mixalot and thats because thinking outside the box was his motto. He was around since the day and even he wrote and played out the lyrics in a digitized voice and mixed with influences ZAPP ,
Grand Master Flash(Marle Marl) which leads to Erik B and Rakim and those lyrics were not just about the street but about goig to places like Japan, Outerspace and cross fusing Hip Hop into something that was going on and about to Body Shok the world. I know Iknow I am rambling, but Master MC is lately alway the rap acts that dont cross fade into Djing like Mixalot. Its always about the rapper and not the beat thats carrying the tune as well. I vote for Rappers with cross skills into the instruments and sounds of the beat of hip hop and not to forget its the rythm as well that makes the sound cool. Jazz 101.
Either that or I am just not able to hear any of the newest rap act and have the same feelings as others because I haven't heard the latest acts because of always haveing a busy schedule and thus sticking to the past tunes. Maybe I'm musict
out. Musict out theres a word. Theres so many acts its been hard to keep up with them all and trying to entertain the notion of hearing every song thats out there can make one dizzy.
"Musict out theres a word"
i like that.
So if I log in there, will they delete any posts that aren't votes for Massline artists?
(I hear they got an image to uphold.)
Being the one who started the poll, I'm assuming a non-massliner wins
