Sharon & The Dap Kings are coming to Neumos on Dec 8. Can't wait.

I wish people would stop knocking amy winehouse...so what if she's a flake, a drunk, a drug abuser, an aging ballard hipster looking whatever....her record is killer and she's one of the best singers going.

nobodys knocking winehouse--at least not me. i dig the hell out of the album. but she borrowed sharon jones' band for sxsw, so that says something. and just listen to jones' sound--she rules. shes much better in concert, too, mainly bc shes not totally fucked up all the time.

Even though i really,really,really appreciate how GOOD Sharon Jones is,there's something about Winehouse(who has less than half of Jones's vocal talent and who by the way said in an interview "i know i can do my thing,but Sharon Jones has the audience eating off the palm of her hands,she is something else!")well as i was saying winehouse gives me goosebumps in a way that very few artists can do for me,so my vote goes to Winehouse!ps:in that same interview she said that unfortunatelly she had never heard Sharon Jones sing until she started working with the Dap Kings and they invited her to one of Sharon's concerts...so i don't think that "borrowing" them says something.

Damn, I love 'em both, although I'm sure JZ's right about Winehouse live. I've only seen Jones once--at last year's Bumbershoot--and she fully justified the hype. Aside from the fantastic voice, that lady can *move*.
