Band of Horses will be playing an in-store at the Queen Anne Easy Street Records on Oct 8th at 11pm to celebrate the release of their new record, Cease to Begin, which comes out on the 9th via Sub Pop.
cease to begin is a beautiful piece of work, from start to finish. BOH are killing it.
the wal-mart thing is unfortunate but dudes gotta get paid. when making and selling music is your job in this hyper-consumer culture, it's pretty tough to not "sell out."
you gotta fight The Man however you see fit. the way i wanna look at it: BOH is screwing wal-mart out of licensing fees for a song they are no doubt sick of by now, anyway. who cares?
we all do stuff that sucks. at least they aren't being pussies about it.
@4 - no one mentioned the term sell out. It's walmart, destroyer of all things small and independent. Im all for getting the music out but really, walmart?
are they playing at Walmart while they are in town?
@1--zing!
@1 beat me to it. But I hear that Ford's Truck-stravaganza-mageddon has room for a stage now that they've moved their '07's off the lot.
