I think you mean they blame his suicide on his wife, but it would be interesting to see them prove the reverse. Either way, I just can't wait to see how it ends.

Yeah I've been waiting on this for months. So what's the deal on the release in Seattle? I know it's suppose to open in limited areas this weekend (obviously not in Seattle)...You have any insider info on that Eric?

Yeah, I have been following the production of this movie since they started work on it. I guess the movie is from Curtis's wifes point of view and the novel she wrote about him. I'm really excited.

In my mind, I'm already in line for this like a Star Wars geek a month before opening.

The press screening is on 10/15, and the film opens on 10/26 at Seattle's Metro. Matt Greenhalgh's screenplay is based on Deborah Curtis's 1996 biography combined with new interviews. Deborah spoke with the surviving members of Joy Division, manager Rob Gretton, and Factory/Haçienda head Tony Wilson, but she--intentionally--neglected to interview Ian's Belgian mistress, Annik Honoré.

I should add that Landmark Theatres states that the film "tentatively opens 10/19." The 10/26 date comes from the local publicist.

Thank god for the French subtitles, otherwise I wouldn't have understood a word.

Actually, as I understand it, it's essentially based on the D Curtis book, but the filmmkaers actually took the time to talk to Annik in an effort to give a more broad view...

I loved it, but it'll be interesting to see what non-JD fans think--assuming they're interested in seeing it in the first place. Sam Riley is amazing.
