News Cursive Gets New (Arguably Better) Drummer

From the band:
Cursive regrets to announce the retirement of Clinton Frederick Schnase IV from the band. After years on the road Clint has decided to spend more time at home in Omaha, NE with his happy family of Whippets. Clint has been a lover of Whippets and worked with them for a number of years. He feels it is his spiritual calling, “You can see your future (or whatever) in their eyes.”We will miss touring, playing, laughing, crying, driving, flying, walking, talking and drinking with Clint and are making plans to love him forever. We wish the best for him and his Whippets and promise to visit him and hang out once a month until the end of time.
Clint’s heavy sticks have been passed to the wonderful Cornbread Compton who has travelled and played with the band for the last 5 months. Clint responded enthusiastically when Cornbread accepted the drumming position with a loud, “F***ING SWEET, MAN”. Well put.
It will be a shame for the band to lose Schnase’s skills behind the kit, as he’s been a solid and interesting drummer on all of Cursive’s releases, but as far as replacements the band couldn’t have picked a much better one than Cornbread Compton. Compton was the drummer of seminal indie rock outfit Engine Down until their demise in 2005. After their split singer Keeley Davis unfortunately joined up with Sparta instead of doing something worthwhile, so it’s good to see that someone in Engine Down is playing with a band worthy of their talent.

Cornbread is a fucking incredible drummer. Maybe I'll actually like Cursive a little more now?
Listening to Cursive for the drumming is like listening to the Boredoms for lyrics. But maybe that's all about to change...
Thanks FITS, I have Seadrum by the Boredoms spinning pronto. Talk about drumming! Talk about Lineout words sounding like the first track from Christopher's KBCS show last night!
Me and my band were fortunate enough to tour with Clint and the gang last year around this time and for those of you who never saw or remembered Cursive for their drumming are missing out on a good one. Name the drummer for AC DC and you probably can't but you remember him not for the fills or crazy licks, but for how solid the rhythm was on all those records.
Same with Clint, he never made you say "oh fuck" but that band wouldn't be the same without em. So right on in the pocket and thick. I will always love Clint and his lil' beer cuzzy!
Shouldn't that read seminal EMO rock outfit???????????? Not mentioning emo in this thread is false advertising!
