Double Double Name Name Game Game

posted by on October 12 at 12:52 PM

So what’s up with all the double double name names band bands, or even triple name name name bands at that? In honor of this phenomenon, let’s play a game called Find the Fake Double Name Band Game—which one of these is a fake band?

(Note: Does anyone know what qualifies as a double-name band, for example: does having a word or sound in between the doubled word disqualify it from the category of double-name band? What do you think?)

I don't buy this for a second, this has Megan written all over it. Eric, could we get a post about how they play the same song when you're in the coffee shop, the drugstore and the dentist?

now way, that was all me! left coast, you're just jealous that nobody wanted you to write on the Line Out.

i will, however, refrain from writing about songs that are in my head when i'm traveling on the bus, or sitting in a trendy coffee shop etc.

Absolutely E, the level of banality that you have achieved I cannot master. And, if I'm tending the crease, I pick Cloutier as my backup and not Dryden. njoi

I'm convinced that every time there is a double word name it's a Catch-22 reference.

The day I told you to start wearing a hat because the sun was obviously softening up your brain.

I thought it was the dentist, maybe it was the gynecologist.

Nicely played, Ms. Seling. I got tired of the fact that people didn't understand the reference. You'll have to revise your shit-list appropriately.

Another plant for Megan, c'mon? She covered that a couple weeks ago. Don't quote me on this, but I think she may have actually talked about the music on the album in that post (and not just about its funny name or what they were playing at the DMV when she was there last).
