Stylus, RIP

posted by on October 29 at 15:31 PM

Online music magazine Stylus is closing Wednesday after 5 years. Though never as popular, the site provided a welcome alternative to Pitchfork, offering long form reviews, lists, and the like with slightly less snark and hype (though also less mp3 and video). Stylus will be missed.

It's too bad.

They had some good writers, and I enjoyed their podcast micro-reviews, even though I rarely agreed with them and it all seemed to disappear without a trace.

They were right about Robyn before anyone else.

I wonder what changed that made them finally close shop.
