It’s yours:
Brian Geoghagan and myself made this little mix. It is the sound of local hiphop, the sound of The Program.
The Tracklist
“Future Talk” by Physics
“I’d Never Met You” by Can-U
“AlottaRappers” by Dyme Def
“North By Northwest” (Jake One Remix) Blue Scholars
“Can’t Wait For The Hill” (Intro) by Khingz
“Stardust” (produce by Vitamin D) Gift Of Gab
“Joe Metro (Remix) - Instrumental” by Blue Scholars
“The Water” (produced by Sabzi) RA Scion
“This Is Why” by D.Black
“Perseverance” by Cancer Rising
“Future Talk” by Physics

Two "Future Talk"s? why not "Ready For We" which is a great track from The Physics, if you want to do two from them?
hey katelyn. charles picked out 11 tracks he wanted to highlight in a very short mix. he provided me with the order of the songs and i did a quick mix this morning using Traktor and a MIDI/USB mixer. i thought the chorus ending Future Talk was pretty funny and very Seattle-centric which seems to be at least a small focus of this Hip Hop festival thingy.
anyway, it was my decision to put that songs chorus on at the end. i didn't have access to any of the other cuts but i'd love to hear more from Physics since that's one of my fav. tracks on the mix.
i had never heard any of these artists/tracks before last night. i enjoyed much more of this than i expected to enjoy. Physics and D. Black stand out as my favorites but i enjoyed all these songs.
should be a great run of shows @ Program.
I didn't mean to jump on you, Brian --it's a great mix, and definitely represents some of the best artists at The Program. The D. Black night should be amazing, it'll be his first show in at least a couple months.
This Line Out post is a nice example of the awesome internet tie-ins happening with The Program, which I wrote about on Seattlest last week. Dec's a big month for NW hip-hop!
Thanks for putting this together.
Sweet mix! Do you mix anywhere regularly?
good lookin not putting grieves and/or any of those cats on here...
hater's a hater. and cosign kately, "Ready For We" is so the jam, wow.
anyway good mix. Gab's not gonna be there is he? hey how was the Northwest Hiphop Roundtable? i heard it went good.
gab is not going to be there. that song was chosen because it was produced by a local cat.
the mix (if you can call it that) was done very quickly, obviously and is pretty much 45secs or so of each song shoved together with the trusty reverse button serving to smooth the quick transitions.
i'd be interested to hear a real hip-hop dj mix up a set of local tunes properly.
d. black is the man though.
where can i hear the Ready For We tune by Physics?
please don't say myspace.
round table w/o lar is a slap in the beard
lar was working that day, if i remember correctly.
