Strangercrombie Strangercrombie Item of the Day: Book a Sunday at the High Dive

Bands can no longer whine about how “it’s so hard to get a show in this town! You have to know/sleep with/smoke out somebody in order to get booked anywhere!” because now, thanks to Strangercrombie, it’s easy!
Book a Sunday at the High Dive

Have your band play, your friend’s band play, DJ, whatever. All proceeds from the night will go to the charity of your choice. Must be a Sunday. A $2,000 value.
A $2,000 value currently going for under $200?? That’s crazy!

Wowee! A whole Sunday at the High Dive. Thanks?
Yeah, I dig the Dive but a Sunday? Why not a Friday or at least an opening slot with a guaranteed sell-out headliner?
how can you assign a value to doing someone else's job for them?
are you kidding me. if you can't book a show in this town then
a) you're not trying
or
b) you really, really, really, really suck....i mean you have to suck bad
if you ask me, it's way too easy to book a show in this town, maybe not at the high dive, but there are so many venues that, on any given night, the city is saturated with bad live music. i'm not complaining, it's great that people have the oppurtunity to get out there and play. i love the fact that there is so much to chose from but come on...anyone who spends even a moderate amount of time in the live music scene, and has any music taste, has to know this.
a $2,000 value? jesus. who makes up this arbitrary value. if it cost anyone that much to book a show at the high dive then nobody would make money unless they either shared a portion of the liquor sales or charged a ridiculous cover charge.
To break even on a $2000 deposit, you'd have to sell 334 tickets at $6. I kinda doubt that the High Dive even holds 334 people!?! Funny stuff.
