Dwight Yoakum? Did I read that right? Yes, I did. The country guy?

This is the first lineup in years that's interesting.

Coachella's still saturated with reunions, but with M.I.A., Dan Le Sac, Erol Alkan, both The Streets and Jamie T, as well as Portishead now flaunting some of the best material they've ever done, and curiosities like Mark Ronson, Pendulum, Aesop Rock, Gogol Bordello, Calvin Harris, and Yo Majesty!, there'll be a lot of traditional crossing of fingers to have all of these stop in Seattle around the same time.

Much more international and eclectic than the usual bill-cramming standards. A breath of hope for festival-future.

Jack Johnson is a joke. Here are the opening night headliners for the festival's history:

1999 day one - BECK
2001 day one - JANES ADDICTION
2002 day one - BJORK
2003 day one - BEASTIE BOYS
2004 day one - RADIOHEAD
2005 day one - COLDPLAY
2006 day one - DEPECHE MODE
2007 day one - BJORK
2008 day one....jack johnson?

I rest my case.

The headliners for the mainstage suck, yes (except for Portishead), BUT the rest of the line up is amazing. The mainstage is too crowded anyway. Must see:

The Raconteurs
Diplo
Erol Alkan
Dan Deacon
Adam Freeland
Spank Rock
Cut Copy
Does it Offend you, Yeah
New Young Pony Club
M.I.A.
Gogol Bordello
Animal Collective

Jack Johnson is the biggest f'in head scratcher...its true. But all the idiots that will be watching HIM won't be near ME when I am at whatever rad artist is closing down the night at another tent.

Don't you worry! Kraftwerk will be witnessed.
That was just a quick list, not the final one, silly!

Other discoveries:
Yo! Majesty
Yelle
The Bees
Duffy
VHS or Beta
Santogold
AUSTIN TV
