God Damn It Baby, I Ain’t Lyin’ To You, I’m Only Gonna Tell You One Ti-HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIME!

I mean, in some ways, it’s unfair to isolate the vocal track from the rest of the song, because of context and whatever. Many singers I know have to leave the room when their lead vocal is singled up in recording. But then, most singers are not David Lee Roth. And most songs are not “Running With the Devil.” And most MP3s are not just David Lee Roth’s soloed up lead vocal performance from one of the greatest freeway rock songs of all time. Courtesy of WFMU, the finest of them all.

cheers, thanks for the link.

this was actually released at some point - a serious vh fan could probably tell you where. i've known about it for a few years, but wfmu comes through with the goods.

now if only they can put up the us promo 12" only acapella version of 'shout' by tears for fears...

David can stand proud man. Sheesh dude even plays his own penny-whistle or whatever-the-heck-that-is.

You have no idea how much mileage I got out of this today. Probably the best part was doing an all-page through the office around 5pm in the afternoon:

"GoddammitbabyyouknowIaintlyintoya, I'monlygonnatellyouonetiiiiiiiiIIIIIIIIIIIIIIME:

[me] Beer in the south kitchen."

there was applause.
