<description><![CDATA[<p>I always thought the (speed) metal, post NWOBHM, was kinda tame up against the hardcore that preceded it.  Tho' I love some of the early/mid-80s metal (Venom, Celtic Frost), it never seemed as hard or important as, say, COC, Void, Die Kreuzen, or Negative Approach...metal was more of an escapist thing.  That said, I do regret never buying the Slayer LPs...I might like 'em more now.  If they had not had so much jack off soloing, too...that woulda helped, natch.</p>]]></description>
