“Grunge Day on Line Out” Finale: Old Eddie Vedder—“Throw Your Arms Around Me”

posted by on January 7 at 18:01 PM

The most shiver-inducing Eddie Vedder solo moment: covering “Throw Your Arms Around Me,” a knockout of a romantic ballad by Australian band Hunters & Collectors.

BTW Eric, today was not the first “Grunge Dayon Line Out.” I bet it won’t be the last.

Hooray for EV... and here we see the reason to get to the Pearl Jam show early.

Hunters and Collectors wrote and first performed it, but it's been covered on a regular basis over the years by Crowded House (and later, Neil Finn). At whose shows, perhaps not coincidentally, Eddie has been known to make guest appearances.

It is is really wonderful song.

Eddie Vedder's voice is in my top 10 favorites of all time. Maybe top 5. Beautiful.
