"Where the Streets Have No Name" by U2
"Til I Collapse", fuuck yeah. That song makes me wanna start picking up cars and throwing them.
I'm also just plum amazed to see the words "Styles Of Beyond" on here!
"Candy's Room" - Bruce Springsteen
oh yeah...
"Rise Above" Black Flag
"Gimme The Loot" Biggie
"Cop Killer" Body Count
"No Vaseline" Ice Cube
"Half-Cocked Concepts" P.O.S.
How did I not even think of "Rise Above"? Thanks, lar!
"Kill The Music" by Every Time I Die. Their music is mostly boring to me, but that song gets me amped.
This is interesting; glad you posted this. Punk and hard rock songs don't work for me because they're usually too short and have no build or expectation of a climax--and the expectation is half of the "power," really. And I refuse to delve into prog territory while jogging, so I like "Yeah (Crass Version)" from the bonus disc on LCD Soundsystem's self-titled LP, though that disc's "Losing My Edge" also works.
Some ideas:
Jawbox - Mirrorful
Shellac - Wingwalker ("Look at me! I'm a plane!")
But really who am I kidding? If I had Eye of the Tiger and the theme from Rocky I would probably stick to those two.
Erasure- Love to Hate You. Every time.
Also, I've never actually jogged, so I don't really know what I'm talking about.
Erasure! Of course! Abby, you're a genius. Although, I'm going to give "A Little Respect" a shot. The way the beat bounces in the chorus around the 2:!5 mark corresponds perfectly with my pace, usually. (I'm a running newbie, mind you. I'm still a little slow).
"Hallowed Be Thy Name" by Iron Maiden.
my great devastator - converge.
it will crush your fucking face.
DING DONG!
Boredoms - Seadrum for the build
"Chalkdust Torture" from A Live One by Phish. The guitar solo is magnificently wanking and energetic. Although, admittedly it is difficult to run thru spiderwebs and twirl at once, bro.
my great devastator by converge is indeed the most amazing pump up song of all time.
Nice one @ 12!
"The sands of time / for me / are running lowwwww..."
WTF! Did I mistakenly log onto the Rolling Stone blog or what?????? Or maybe Blender's?????
It's threads like this that make me proclaim: PLEASE! Get a new Music editor...
Thanx!
"99 Problems".
"Run Runaway" by Slade of course.

For working out LCD Soundsystem is actually pretty great, Nike knew what they were doing when they got em to do that workout CD
Indeed though, this is a very "Rolling Stone" or "Spin" question.
Power Song? - Jesus Christ Pose, Jesus Christ.
What's with all this running around? I thought you were sick!
Pretty much anything by Minor Threat, but I suppose Salad Days if I had to choose one.
