One good point that Aaron (Edge) made somewhere else: Nat's 28" kick drum kind of muddies up Akimbo's sound through certain loud PAs, like the one at Neumo's. Believe it or not, I think Akimbo sound their best at El Corazon. Whoever does sound there really dials his drums in perfectly. I definitely feel you on The Crowd VS. Akimbo though. I've seen them 40+ times, and it's continually been the same reaction since they were playing for 5 people until now.

I like Neurosis better when they don't have to follow something so high-energy. I had the same problem taking their whole set in when they did a weekend like this with Botch back at Graceland.

Still, I'll take Neurosis doing incredible weekends like this over more tours of 3 bands that just sound like Neurosis Jr.
