I learned when I used to review music that you don't have to listen to it to form an opinion: fonts, band photos, song titles, cover art and knowing the genre usually works and can eliminate the tedious "listening" part.

But really, does a Black Crowes album need reviewing? 2 1/2 stars is a perfect middle ground choice and Maxim couldn't go wrong picking it.

Didn't the Stranger have a music writer a few years back who confessed that for years she'd been writing reviews of shows she'd attended but couldn't remember the next morning due to her alcoholic blackouts?
