No Depression is a great example of what a music magazine should be- can be. Well written articles about music, musicians and the communities that support them.

And about being a so-called niche magazine, well I've learned so much in the genres of folk, rock, and country that influence most of what is considered alternative or neo-folk or significant on our charts today- did someone say Band of Horses.. I consider it an enjoyable reference for any music lover who enjoys reading about lesser known yet worthy music, or new up and comers.

I hope there is an angel out there to step up and potentially keep this magazine going. They've got the literary muster, perhaps just a tweak with their marketing and they would keep some of those advertising dollars.

I wish the ND family all the best. They put out a labour of love that had artistic merit, integrity and worth and not a lot of folks can say that.
